I have an 06 qc mineral gray with all of 2k miles. I just noticed a paint chip. Where can I paint sample to fix a small chip? Oh yeah, what is the best way (and don't say pay someone else) to fill the chip. Its about the size of a standard rock chip.

Just go to the dealer and get a bottle of touch up. Slowly fill the chip by applying several dabs of paint, of course giving it some dry time. Once you have the chip filled slightly higher than the paint surface use some 1000 grit sand paper to wet sand to the same level as the paint, take this step slow. Then rub out and wax.

Yep.. except for I use actually 1500 then 2000 grit wet/dry.

There is a spot on my truck where someone made about a 1.5 inch long deep scratch right above the headlight...(yes I was pissed)

I first cleaned out the scratch, then made several layers of primer to fill it in then several dabs of paint to match my paint code, then color sanded it out...

You can still see it.. its a tad bit lighter almost looks tad bit hazy... but definatley better than a huge eye sore scratch.
