Ok, i know that JMB sell the door handles and tailgate handles already painted but i cant afford to spend that kind of money on them. I was wondering if anyone on here has ever painted them themselves and what it took. My parents own a restoration shop here in houston so i can get hold of all the needed supplies for for. And not to mention i can buy new handles at cost plus 10% to put up incase i wanted to put it back stock.

They can be painted.... just prep and spray. :)

...... You can also buy (or find used) smooth painted door handles from the Jeep Grand Cherokee LIMITED ('99-'04 model I believe). They are the exact same handle as what is on our truck. ;) You would have to paint your existing tail-gate handle to match tho.

we painted my factory balck mirrors silver to match, they look good. they didnt have to sanded smooth the paint compleatly smoothed out the texture. as for the door handles and tailgate there next.

i got a set from Wifey, sanded smooth myself & had a buddy shoot them in '05 black.
look great. no faded out crap

you will have to prime and sand them 2-3 times to smooth them looks good i did it to my hemi

How difficult is it to take the handles off and reinstall them?

I agree... these trucks need painted handles.

I had my mirrors and handles painted by Hurst Collision in TX. They do great work and have done alot of Rams. Very simple install.
