Parachute Worked!!

Hey racing dudes and dudettes, I tried out my parachute today and it worked! I was just flat surprised, but I was only going about 50mph, I was not sure how fast i had to go for it to work. I wont need it for the 1/4 mile racing, but it sure will be nice to have at the Maxton mile and Bonneville!!

Congratulations. Chute technology is such that barring human error in packing you can expect it to work every time.

That looks cool, previously had a Super Pro Bracket Altered and had to use a chute. When you get sideways in high gear it will straighten you up in a hurry.

Thanks everybody!! I go to Sean Roe's on Tuesday night where we tune for the runs next week. I have to PU the race gas in the morning and we are going to tune the vec for the Production truck runs where I need to run faster than 163.5MPH to break that record and my goal is to do that first, then we are going to have an additional tune for the NOS and then I'm hopeing to try and run at least 175MPH. That will not be a record for the fuel clas, but for a "Stock" motored truck, it will be Damn Fast and should be alot of fun. I think the stock rear gear of 4.56 might hinder me on the Maxton Mile, but we will know alot more after we do the Dyno runs Tuesday night. I feel if I can not hit 180MPH on the Dyno with no areodynamic drag, then it is pretty likely I won't be breaking any records. Then we will have to scramble for a 4.10 or 4.11 rear gear to get my 5th gear speed up. Because no matter what, I only have a standing start mile to achieve this record.
 
what else is done for power besides the headers, tune and nos

I have not run the quarter recently, will be running in April for Pinks All Out, but won't need the full cage or the chute, most likely will be low 12's or high 11's. I have DR tires for the 1/4 mile runs coming, but the truck is really setup for Land Speed Racing which is low impact on drivetrain, but hard on motor for High RPM's

To get the National Production Truck record, thats all I can do for now, and I cannot run the NOS for that record try. After I break the record, then I can run the NOS. After I get thru this next few months of the LSR runs, then I'm already set-up to add Roes S/C. So I guess thats next along with motor rebuild to go for Higher HP gains.
 
Thanks! I was going to get black, but I decided that red just added more to photos!
