After Scott, DR. Viper, replaced the 3 tranny solenoids, fluid and filter the truck ran really well but the code 0740 kept coming up and when it did the truck on cruise would surge 400 to 500 rpm. Clear the code and all was well again. At the good doctors’ advice I changed the TPS and the cruise worked perfectly and no more code. But, the engine started a 500 rpm surge when I came to a signal light. Called the doctor and after spending almost an hour on the phone, reset the computer memory and still stumped he said, “was there an O-ring on the TPS? Took it off and low and behold there was not an O-ring on the new one so took the one off the old sensor, put in on the new TPS and eureka, all is back to normal. Runs like it should, no idling problem, no surging problems and I am happy again.

Bottom line, VENOMOUS1 had the time and patience to walk me thru the issue, wait for me to mechanically fix the problem and stay of the phone while I test drove the beast. Try and get this kind of service from a dealer. I am blessed again by my friend Scott. :D

Scott has always helped me out with advice or anyway he could even though we have not meet nor have spent one dollar with him. Stand up guy. Will be glad to help support him when I can. :D

Great post, and a testament to how we are always learning something different about how picky our trucks are. Great job in having faith in Scott to help diagnose problem.
