For you guys that are running the Paxton S/C has anyone upgraded the bypass valve? If so, to what and what are the benefits (i.e. no leaking of boost, better boost, etc)? Are all bypass pass valves universal (same size for different applications)?

Last question and I'm going to sound so dumb: Is the bypass valve the same as a blow off valve (BOV)?

a bypass valve and BOV are basically the same thing. a bypass valve can be opened during boost to prevent boost spikes and overboost, but generally they are shut until you let off the throttle so the intake pressure can be relieved. supercharges do not have wastegates so if the supercharger makes 12 psi and youre tuned for 10 psi, the extra 2 psi will open the 10 lb spring and squeeze past the bypass valve

3 years now with the huffer, I don't think that I've talked to anyone that has upgraded any part on the Paxton/Supercharger. I'm only about 25/miles from Paxton's Main Office, been there a couple of times talked to the "guy's" for a while, can't remember that ever being brought up.
What they have to do sometimes is replace the valve for a bigger one because they turned the boost up so high that the stock one can't keep-up.
The most they do is adjust the one that's there....

I changed mine recently just because it was old and starting to crack at the rubber.

Yeah D about the only upgrades for our little baby's is to go to a bigger Heat-Exchanger or change the pully's....

Think about what you might be able to do with an electronically controlled valve and boost controller. If you're having issues with traction, you could curve the boost to compensate, allowing you to stay hooked up. You could also switch programs for street driving vs. racing.:alberteinstein:

Now that's what I talking about! A man that thinks out of the box. Now I'm off to do a little research. Who makes such devises?
