A very prominent tuner in Texas (Not Hennessey) offers a paxton installed for $9,900.00 is this a fair deal?

the value of a Paxton install is in the Bells and Whistles....

The Paxton is great but like the truck itself it is better with mods...

Heat shielding
Improvement to the air intake
crankcase breather
Most important = The Tune...

if they want $10k give it to them but tell them you want 650+ RWHP when it is done

Not a bad deal for a new system.I myself could not afford to pay that much without going in to debt or getting my ass kicked by the wife.:(

So I bought a used one from our good buddy VPRPWR (I smell pork.
I just had to add some cop humor in light of his recent job aquisition.)

I paid 3100+900 to have the main unit polished and some misc parts such as a new paxton water pump and some pulleys. Powdercoating of some of the parts was 250.00.Did the install myselF, for a grand total of around 4300 including misc fluids. It was a time consuming job but well worth it. Go for it , you will be happy.:) :burnout: :burnout: :D

Woodhouse was charging $10,500 for the install, including the tune. Damn they still piss me off.

For that they should include a motor replacement warranty.Im sorry you had a bad experience with them.I just hope mine holds together :burnout: so I dont have to deal with a dealer.:)

I didn't realize you bought from Woodhouse. I always thought they backed their paxton installs?

This comming from a past turbo dumbass but please take this advice strongly

dont let the truck far from you

Second if you do i would only suggest Boomer or DC they have the best reeputation.

Underground has also done tons of them but they are all(Gary, DC and underground ) are far from you.

Iwould strongly suggest the roe SC'r

I can easily be installed with jsut the removal of the intake and replacing a few odds and ends , and you will end up with about the same hp as the paxton although without the extra installation dollars and hassal.

the truck was at woodhouse to dyno the motor while looking it over and installing the clutch/flywheel upgrade after buying from Ringgold. While on the dyno it blew.

everything was fine until I lost that race to Broke a few months ago. Given everything that happened I blew my top after my truck lost. They blamed my driving skills and thought the '05 gear ratio was the reason I lost. I refused to believe having a 200 advantage to a stocker would result in me losing a race. I sent them a video of the run and a timeslip and havent heard back (2 months ago).

They then asked why I was racing the truck. I said thats why I bought it. I guess they werent comfortable in me racing it after they just got it fixed.

Anyway, for them to tell me the bs behind why I lost the race was a bunch of crap. I hung up the phone and will never go to them or step up for them again!! After talking to dan at DC Performance he thought the wide open throttle timer delay in the computer was the reason. When I bought their blower flash and went back to the track I picked up at least a full second in the 1/4 when compared to the stock PCM. So, I dont know if they'll back me or not should something happen. If something does, I'll send it to DC or another prominant tuner vs Woodhouse. I'll never go there again.
