Ok guys... I had posted a while ago that I was seeing alot of oil in the intake pipes from the Paxton. So, paxton wanted too much to do the rebuild. I decided I would rebuild the damn thing myself. After spending hours on the phone I found the bearings I was looking for. Now the problem is one of the seals. I dont know what to call it so it's really hard to call around and ask if anyone has one. Maybe you guys could take a look and see what you think. I did find a rebuilder willing to sell the seal for $45. But I found the bearings for $100 less than he wanted, so I'll bet I can do the same with seal.
Any Ideas?

Oh and I tried to google the part number.. Ya, I think that's paxton's number. They claim that they are the only place you can get the parts and they dont retail them. I call there bluff.. They don't build a seal just for the NOVI units.

I had my seal go out also, about $600.00 :( and it was an 8-day turn-around
But your right, they must use this seal somewhere else as well :dontknow:
Keep us posted, please.

Good Luck!

for $550 dollars you could of had the whole unit rebuilt, trying to go cheap on a sc rebuild to me is ftarded ,when metal goes into your oil pan from your botched sc rebuild then you can rebuild the engine as well

Did they replace the bearings too?
NO.... There are two seals in the Paxton. One is a little over $300.00 to fix and the other is about $600.00 to fix.

right.. the seals and bearings alone are only like $400 if you do all of them. Paxton Quoted me $700 plus shipping. FLCHUB.. whats going cheap. Doing the labor cause I can? I am sure Paxton is the only people in the world that can press bearings. Too bad I didn't reaize that before i took it apart.

lemme know how many hours you actually have into it including phone calls and internet time lookng for parts,i doubt you'll be saving any money, you cant obviously do the labor because you dont have the right equipment

might try taking it to a seal and bearing place they should be able to find something that will work just from measuring the ID, OD, and thickness
i'd start with purvis bearings, the one here in temple has always been able to get me something. and they have one in Denton.

thanks.. I'l do that. I did call them for the bearing. I just didn't know what to call the seal. I am gonna have to bring it somewhere.
FLCHUB, time is money I do guess. But since this project is nothing but a toy the time has been enjoyed. I am on here for help not your ridicule. I am doing my build competely on my own. I am proud of that though it may not always be perfect the first time. I do know what is on and has been done to my truck. Unlike yours as we have previously seen. I am not quite so lazy and can do the research to find my parts and do the work. Instead of not having a clue of what I even have. It's been a great learning expiriance. And to follow up on your question about labor. I dont yet know if I have all the tools to do the job, but thus far I have pulled it all apart and pressed out the bearings with my press in my shop (garage). If i do need a tool I would rather buy it and complete my project than pay for someone else to buy theirs! Keep it real bro.. or at least as real as you know how.
