Hey guys. As many of you know I'm getting rid of the Paxton aftercooler and going with a regular intercooler. Banks and a few others make HUGE intercoolers. One of these should bolt right in and fit great. My question is, would it be too big? Cummins turbos make like 15 to 30 lbs of boost. Would my 7 to 10 lbs of paxton boost make it through there OK? Anyone??

Its definitely not a bolt in anything, I can get you set up with everything you need if thats what you want to do, the blower outlet has to be changed along with all new piping, my intercooler (or modify a cummins one as they are not drop in), etc.

hey Justin. I am as good as anybody at fabricating my own personal vehicle, so I can get it done and make it work, but would the huge intercooler be too big with a paxton/small pully? Best I can tell it may take a bit longer to build boost, but it shouldnt lower boost any. Thats the main thing I need to know. Also, how much can you get me a big intercooler with 3-1/2 inlet/outlet? Also, can you modify the paxton outlet to straight out, and if so how much? Thanks

you're always going to have some boost pressure loss when putting in a bigger intercooler, how much depends on the size of the intercooler, with that one u posted i wouldnt be surprised if u lost 1lb or more of boost, we made a water to air intercooler setup work without boost loss, ask stinker about what u would need

Define big intercooler (power level and/or size) and I can give you a price. I custom make them for the SRT10, it will not be a cummins intercooler. I can modify the paxton too, but you still need all custom piping with BOV mount, etc. The bigger intercooler will have less pressure and much better cooling than the paxton air/water, the real problem though is how much CFM the paxton can push, especially on a modified motor.

Not necessarily true, we did back to back pulls on Jacks big CI motor (with the paxton) with and without the intercooler, and boost was identical on our datalogs, but it lost power without the intercooler due to the heat.

meaning the intercooler was no help at all,i'm talking about staying with the water to air setup over the bigger intercooler, the cooler the air the more boost you'll create overall

what were the dyno numbers you had after those two pulls?

i do like your procharger setup justin ,i may get bored with my paxton, what did your procharger dyno at and what methods did u use to cool the air

sorry bout the small hijack, not often i see justin on here when i am

i know i saw that before but i didnt see the dyno and ram from hell still has dyno'd his truck

yeah ur right, jack truck dyno'd low numbers due to a engine malfunction

Jacks big CI motor with a 7" lower and stock paxton upper made a whopping 3.5-4 psi with no belt slip, about 650whp and maybe 10-20 less without the IC, its been a while.

Neither procharger setup has been tuned yet unfortunately, I am very eager to see the results as well.
