My PC has started to shut down by itself and also has the error message " Microsoft is shutting down due to issue with plug and play device" ( or something along those lines) Windows defender found a Trojan Horse and I deleted it I have spy hunter and ran the program and it found issues, but the machine still shuts down:mad:

Hmmm dosent sound good sounds like a trojon for sures someones messin with ya. open windows in "safe mode" then run some dionastics anti virus if it will let you in safe mode it might not... check your firewall settings turn then on ALL the way up were NOTHING can go in or out and see if it still happens better yet unplug the internet all together if It still does this than its allready been programed inthere its an internal problem.plug and play hmmm go to the hardware section under control panel and let windows test for problems "this device is running properlly" kinda thing did you recentlly download a program and install it? thats the only way a trojon can get in. a device problem should shut down your windows unless it way a critical hardware issuse "losse connection" or something inside the CPU. maybe this will get you started let me know if any of this works and get back to me ill try to think of something else

Are you also getting the blue screen of death? If so your now part of the windows crashed club. Go to:http://www.recovermypc.com/ there is also another program I used. Also do you have restore point on your computer( where when you start up your pc you can go to an older restart date when you had no problems) either way if you didnt back up pics and such your gonna need another program for that also. Gotta love microsoft.

try system restore the trojan changed your config.also run disk check.make sure restore point is well before your latest download.

There's a program called "Reg. Cleaner" it's by Jouni Vuorio

This one goes into your Registry and KICKS-ASS!

Quick

Reboot your pc and continually hit the "delete" button while it is booting up. this will get your pc into safe mode. see if you get the same error and problem. if their are no issues then find your system restore tab and restore your computer to a different date and time!! start button/programs/accessiories/system tools/system restore

is spy hunter a legitimate program that you purchased or is it a free version download.sometimes viruses are given in package deals.when my kids used to go on kazaa they used to get all these bogus virusscan and spyware programs that actualy spread virus further .only way to fix is system restore and scan.if that dont work reinstall windows .also a bad memory stick will cause unstable pc.

go to www.malwarebytes.org and download the free copy and install it make sure to update it and run a full scan that will find most trojans and malware/spyware. once finished it will give you option to remove all of them and then reboot your pc. any other questions or issues drop me a message and there are deeper things we can do to track down the problem including if you need it i can remote control your pc and take a look at it and see if i can find anything :)

Thanks guys for the help, I am working on getting the issues fixed:rock: Theres nothing like a Trojan Horse or two to make life interesting:D

It would seem once you get this fixed, you need to install some good virus protection.

I have AVG Installed. It snuck in I guess:mad:

yeah avg is decent its in the top 5 i like kaspersky only due to fact there are a lot of control associated with it. number 1 rated was bit defender and its another good one but you pretty much put it in and it does everything else and i just dont personally care for the lack of control in the program :)

combofix is good if you know what you are doing with it. spybot search and destroy is only 50% effective though ;)

After 30 years of working with computers the Only way to make sure you get it fixed is.

Get a pocket drive (small usb hard drive that plugs into the computer)
Copy all of your DATA files to the pocket drives (files, pictures, etc)
Go to the website of the computer Mfg and download all the latest drivers for your system. (Copy them to the Pocket Drive as well)

Now Format the Hard drive and and do a completely Clean Re-Load of the system.
Install all of the hardware drivers downloaded earlier
Download all the Microsoft Patches to the software
Load/Install Only the Programs you use (Leave the BS software off the system)
Copy your data back on to the system (leave it on the pocket drive as a backup)

Make sure you use a Really Good Firewall and AntiVirus program (ZoneAlarm Extreme is about the best on the market)

Takes a good 8-12 hours to get it fixed... Everything else is simply a Band-Aid and it will eventually fail again.... :)

da1 that doesn't guarantee a fix to the problem unforchantly with smarter trojans they can hide in your files and copy to the external drive you need to get rid of the infection before anything. once removed if you want to do the clean reload you can but until you get it removed you can copy all your files reload your pc and when you put your files back you could get the virus/trojan right back again.
