So cool Scoob. We share similar passions.

I had purchased the same part you did for my second setup back in 2007.

I had:

AMD X2 4200+ Dual-Core 2.2GHz S939 CPU w/ZALMAN CNPS9700-NT
A8N32-SLI Deluxe Mobo (I paid the exact same price :argh: )
4GB RAM (forget brand) DDR400 Dual-Channel w/heat spreaders
BFG 7800GT 256mb GDDR3
2.6TB HDD (4x500GB+2x320GB) Maxtors
RAIDMAX SAGITTA ATX Case
(forget brand) 500watt PSU 31A on 2 combined +12v rails

24" Samsung 245BW LCD Monitor
Saitek Eclipse II Keyboard
Microsoft HABU Mouse
Logitech Z-5300 Speaker System
Logitech Freedom 2.4 Joystick (custom LED)
Backup Power Supply

I think I was running Vista there.

What could have possibly given you that idea??

Is that a ZBoard?

Ahhh! You ran just to the CPU, thought about GPU too? OC'd? What's current temps against stock fan? How you pumping it?

Currently, I'm just running a laptop that I've modded and upgraded.

It's a DV6-Artist Edition 2. Had it for 2 years now. But I've always wanted to max it out before I went on to something else.

CPU: AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-87 @ 2.4GHz (upgraded from ZM-82)
RAM: 8GB DDR2 Dual-Channel
GPU: ATI Radeon 4650HD Mobility 1GB (M96)
HDD: 500GB (int) 2TB DROBO (ext)

Had to make adjustments for the newer processor, as it runs 15°C hotter on stock cooling.

Use to idle @ 54-56ºC and 3D @ 92ºC with ZM-82 (add 15º more for ZM-87.) Max temp is 95ºC which once reached, down clocked to P2 as it's a mobile chip.

With my mod:

It idles now @ 38-40ºC and 3D @ 68-80ºC to the ZM-87. I know HP's cooling in their laptops are so inefficient.

It's definitely time to upgrade. I've read lots of different threads about the recycle feature in SSD's. You can only use them for so long. I don't know, I'll have to try them out in my setup when I get there. My new setup is actually going to be spanned out to hang on a wall and have Plexi glass with etched graphics covering the components. Will have to use water cooling then.

oh, and after i paid $645 for the CPU it dropped 2 weeks after to $299. i nearly shot myself. lol

Hahaha, yeah... sometimes when you think you can't wait anymore for a deal to come out, and you buy... then to find out they had a deal and your return policy expired before it..... not a happy camper!

thats an old setup, before i had dogs, and dogs drink, and play in water so no longer.
i had a pond pump powering the water. i would be lying if i told you numbers because i do not remember. i do know it was like 30c cooler then it was before and i OC'ed like a bitch on it.
i never did the card due to it being a $500 card at the time, thou i will probably do water cooling on my new 590. i want to pump it up to full speed 580GTX SLI speed. 6 more days until launch.

i have a lappy oo, i went with the G73 asus ROG. nice cooling.
