Sell it to Dan Lesser, Viper Specialty Performance if no one wants it
I figured this would have been gone in the first hour. You just can't get these anymore
Thanks. I'm surprised it lasted this long too. The cheapest one I've seen went on eBay for $800. I thought about calling Dan, but wanted to give private owners a chance first.
Chris, I've got one too that I am going to sell. I wouldn't drop that price at all. I think when Dodge still had them available, they were around $1200. To Jeff's point of availability, they are actually worth twice that; if you consider the law of economics! I've had mine for the last 5 years just for insurance.
Chris, What kind of truck is that out of?
Interesting.. A few years back I bought a brand new one from one of those from a dealer that sells cheap over the internet and it was $350 ...

This is very tempting.
Don't think I ever saw them for under 1000
I think Dan Lessor buys broken ones for 500
It really depends on the exact type. The general range is 50-500 depending on type, physical shape, and working/broken state. 2004's are the least valuable, followed by 05-06 manual, followed by 05-06 Auto. However, one thing people need to keep in mind is that we still need to disassemble, clear/replace the memory, inspect, clean, and re-assemble/re-seal. Its no easy task, and exactly why we cannot pay some of the asking prices... we can produce these if needed, it makes no sense to pay 1K+ for an ECU when we can make a copy of it for 300-600 + internal labor costing. We have a lot of money invested in SMD reworking equipment... may as well USE it! ha.
All that said, yes, we absolutely do purchase ECU's, and anyone who is looking to make a quick sale, no bullshit, please contact me. Send it in, we inspect it, rate it, and send a check back. Simple as that. Any ECU from a Ram SRT with no connector or case damage in working condition will be in the 250-500 range. 04's are 250-300, 05/06 Man is 300-400, and 05/06 Auto is 400-500.
Thanks Dan. Good information. You provide a very valuable service. The Viper community is lucky to have someone around that can do what you can. I also realize that my PCM is only worth X dollars to you, because you'll need to invest more into it and be able to turn a profit. Fortunately, I don't need to firesale it, so
I'm going to hang onto this PCM until I can get the $500 I want for it or until I get tired of looking at it.![]()
Dan, did you see this one?Not a problem. If you get sick of looking at it or we get lower on stock, I might be able to meet you in the middle around 400. We have quite a few 04's at the moment however. The offer at 300 stands in any case in a pinch.
