is the vec3 a better choice than the pcm flash on a 05 qc----how do the installations differ and what are the difference in the gains i will get using the vec3 over the pcm flash.. does anyone have instaltion instructions for a vec3---what is the price difference between the 2

I'd recommend a stage 2 pcm...
I'll second Craigerino's recommendation. :D

You need to know exactly what you are doing (or have good access to a tuner) with the VEC or you will grenade your motor. That would be bad.

What plans do you have for the truck? If you plan on getting fancy with forced induction and stuff of the sort the VEC3 would be best.

VEC3 is right around $1000. To use the VEC3 you'll need someone who knows how to use it and tune with it. Since you are in Florida Roe or Doug Levin (DLM) would be my first 2 choices.

As far as I know the VEC's dont do anything to the tranny and since you got a QC, the pcm flash will adjust your tranny for much firmer shifts.

Vec wireing harness needs to be spliced into all your injector wires, unit needs to be mounted somewhere and tuned properly......pcm is 3 screws and installed in less than 5 minutes!!

Get the flash dude!!!

Second... :D i'm gonna get the VEC soon and stack that on the aftermarket PCM.. However, when i was talking to Dave @ Roe last week he was telling
me that the Roe SCers now ship with safe smart-cards for the VEC.. so
it's just that much more of a DIY :D

just trade the QC for a RC and be done with it:) :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout: :burnout:

if you live in florida do both.
have the pcm flashed for shift points, torque managment, and get rid of the WOT (wide open throttle timer)
then have Roe install the new VEC3 (get the data logger)
the new VEC3 is .
good, and even has provisions for IAT compensations for when the temp changes dramatically
roe could dial it in perfectly, with that set up.

Boomer makes a good point. I have DC Performances pcm...mainly to remove the wide open throttle timer delay (got it last year), then added the VEC3 earlier this year when I had Joe at PBJ work is tuning magic on the truck.
