I talked with Joe at Performance by Joe (who also knows JMB Justin quite well). Joe specializes in Vipers but also does SRT Rams out of Saint Louis. I gave him my story and what I wanted as well as the mods I already have.
He told me that its typical for him to improve the Woodhouse tune on the Paxton (with a VEC2/3) another 100rwhp or so and he has yet to generate rwhp numbers under 700. He's only about 8-10 hours away from me. I met him briefly at the Topeka V10 Nationals several years ago but never talked with him.
So...from what he's told me and what y'all have told me about being short at least 100 or so hp from my current tune this seems to be correct. It will also verify my losing to the guy (cant remember his name) that had the procharged SRT Ram running the same boost. Gaining another 100 rwhp would cut about another full second off my 1/4 mile time...putting me in the high 12s with a density alt of 8500 or so feet (ran 13.889 last year).
His tune and adding some suspension/handling improvements are getting me excited for this years road and drag racing events. I cant imagine having another 100 or so horsepower with my current setup. Who knows, maybe I can add some other performance enhancements (slightly bigger pulley with another pound or two of boost) with my forged internals and get something even better.
I mentioned to him that with his specialty in vipers and location in the center of the country he should become a vendor on this board and possibly gain some more business.
This is of course dependant if I here one way or the other whether the guy that said he's interested in my truck gets back to me...havent heard from him in a week.
