I have an 05 RC. I've finally got it looking the way I want it and I'm ready to add some performance mods. I am not planning on supercharging it anytime soon. I rarely make it to the track. I just want it to perform well on the street. I have read hundreds of threads on this site, and frankly I am more confused now than when I started. So far all I have is a K&N CAI and Magnaflow catback. Any advice on where to go from here is appreciated. It seems like the general consensus is that a PCM/tuner is the best mod you can do. What is the best one for my current set-up...thanks:burnout:

The SCT tuner seems to be a up and coming popular choice. You may want to look at traction adders too. Headers, catless mids, throttle body are about all you can do without going into the engine. Then there's Nitrous. Have I helped you with your confusion? Didn't think so.

pcm, caltracs, and totally deleate youre cats and you will think you have a new truck

Performance mods in the order I would perform them after doing just about everything :D

Mids
Catback
SCT tuner or Stage 2 flash

Those should give you some decent returns on investment and HP gains.

If you still want a little more...

Headers

Then Nitrous if that isnt enough

Other option is to run 4.88's, should give you SOTP daily driving improvement.

If you do any or most of the above mods then you will probably want to upgrade your shifter ;)

Traction and ride can be improved with Caltracs....

Bling mods

CAI, TB

A tuner or programming your computer (you can also keep your stock computer and buy a separate one to have "flashed) does more for QCs than RCs ,but they do help. They also help them run a bit cooler (along with a 172* t-stat)

Cat-delete sounds better, but MUCH louder, and gives way better exhaust flow.

Roe or X-Metal throttle body is totally unnecessary, but it gives a crisper throttle response. It was worth it to me.

An X-Metal or B&M shifter will help a lot if you like to bang gears.A raptor shift light also helps you hit them at the correct RPM.

CalTracs will help in the traction department.

A new set of springs and lowering blocks help the look and lower the center of gravity.

Centerforcce clutch and Viper hydraulics are a must eventually ,along with changing trans fluid to synthetic ATF.Shifts way better.

If you live in a hot area of the country, you may want to consider electric fans.

This is a great thread!!!! I just picked up my truck last weekend and am looking to mimic what I did to the last one. Headers, catless mids, Magnaflow, K&N drop-in, pcm (or sct).

Catless mids and a pcm flash. I have a pcm for sale by the way...have the same truck.

I would go with the upgraded clutch and catless mids myself. I feel the SCT is not that big of a bang for the buck with RC. Now the QC are totally different.

Exhaust is the next thing to do on my mod list.
