Guess what..If you wanna blow snow, you don't need a bulky, expensive snowblower. They're a pain in the ass, and only good for when you get a shitload of snow (over 8 inches). Even then, whether or not they're overkill is still arguable (at least that's the way I see it).
When there's three inches of snow, I bet most of you break out the shovel (and break your back). Three or four inches isn't really enough for the snowblower. Well, have you ever tried a LEAF BLOWER? I've used my little Stihl leaf blower to blow 6 inches of snow off my sidewalks literally dozens of times! It's easy and fast, and you don't break your back!
My neighbors (who are stupid hicks) look at me like I'm on crack when I use the leaf blower to clear snow, just because it's not the "right" tool for the job I guess. But it works better than anything I've ever used.
Sometimes, there's a little bit of ice or whatever at the bottom, or even a little bit of packed snow. No problem. You use salt anyway right? So just toss some salt down afterwards and you're set.
We got over 40 inches of snow here last year and I didn't use the snowblower one single time. leaf blower all the way! And If you're gonna buy one, get a Stihl. They're the best IMO.
That will work for light dry snow. We get that wet heavy shit here.
