- Cable companies that have no clue what a compander is. CONTROL THE VOLUME!!!!! There's no reason that the local commercials have to be 50 db louder than the program I'm watching. If you're trying to get my attention, you got it, but...I'll be boycotting those vendors.
Also, try to normalize all the channels. There's no reason for HBO to be 120 db louder than Cinemax and 80 db quieter than the Weather Channel.
If you need help with picking out the proper equipment, let me know.

Silvr- I'm with ya. It's not like McDonalds' menu has dramatically changed since the last time they were there.
