Phil (IndyCoder) Returns Home!!!

Thanks everyone! It really wasn't an inconvenience going to see Phil and get updates for everyone. I know you guys would have done the same for anyone in your local area as well. It's all part of the deal. :)

It really was great to see Phil walk away from me toward their car. Amazing too, compared to the first time I saw him at the hospital. It may be good karma, but truth be told, it actually felt really good inside know that I might have helped a little.

Funny, but odd: You *must* be wheelchair'ed out of the hospital by a staff member when you are discharged. Even if it's a broken pinky, they have to wheel you out the front door. Phil's move was hysterical: as soon as they broke the plane of the front door, he jumped up out of the wheelchair and said, "Thanks!". LMAO
He was SO ready to get the hell out of there.


RedRamRules- Thanks man, but whenever I'm in SoCal (Anaheim), the company pays for the meals. Heh heh. How about we make it a beer and a lap dance at Fritz's? :D
 
Kevan i've been folowing this ordeal in a silent way ,what you did as no price and is done only by the greatest people .Phil good luck for your full recovery .

Thank you for the untireing effort you have put forth to help Phil and keep us informed. Your dedication to the information has been unceasing.

Phil, I am glad you are home and may the remainder of your recovery be very quick.

This month and a half has been made much better by the information from Kevan and the family.

You are all still in my prayers.

IT'S CHECK-UP TIME!!!

Phill called me this afternoon to let me know he and his mom were coming into town for his first check-up since being released from the hospital.

I met them at the hotel at about 8:30PM and helped them take stuff up to the room (doctor appts. are tomorrow). Phil brought me back the parts that were accidentally packed up with his truck at the Nats. He also brought me a die-cast black (the fastest color) 1:47 scale SRT-10!!! That was VERY COOL of him to do. It's pretty slick! A great addition to the desk!

We had a nice little visit and had a great time talking with everyone. Phil's REALLY improved. His memory is coming back strong, but he still needs tips and pointers on occassion. It's kinda fun- it's sorta like a game show: Phil will remember the first couple of letters, then you have to figure out the rest. I have a good time with it, and he's WAY better at it now than even a week ago.

Example: He was asking about the guys on the forum. He said, "When I first got there, there was a member who was in some trouble and the guys were helping him out. His name starts with an F....three letters....F...Y...something....FHY....". He was REALLY trying to piece it together. He kept talking it out....and I said, "You mean 'FlyingLow'?" He yelled, "YES!".

I'm sure it'll take a little time, but man....the improvement is amazing. Phil's still having a tough time getting words from his brain to his fingers, so typing is tough. That's part of the reason we'll see short posts from Phil.
But have no fear- his voice and speaking are back at 100%. I suggested he record a quick message using his computer and post the MP3 for the forum members. It'd be a cool way to do it until he's back typing like Wifey after a double-cap. LOL

He's not running (that I saw), but even his walking has improved this past week. He can move all his limbs, even balance on one foot! His right shoulder joint/elbow joint is still giving him problems, but it's improving each day.

It was getting late, and they needed to get some rest for their busy day tomorrow with the docs. Chaplain Steve, his wife, and I left a little after 10PM. On the elevator ride down, we both said how impressed we were with Phil's progress.
It truly is amazing.


BTW- Chaplain Steve drives a RAM as well. Not an SRT-10, but....close enough to be a cool guy. :D

Just Bitchin news Kevan......Reading this makes my birthday even better :rock: BTW thanks for your continued efforts to bring us news on his recovery. I for one Love that about you....Very selfless of you and the posts are always very well wrote.....Thanks once again and keep kicking Ass Phil...We are all behind you 100 % bro :D

Thank you Kevan. As everyone has said, you are very kind to keep us all posted in such detail on Phil's recovery. The pics add a special touch, makes me feel like I know him ............ :D
