I'm picking up my new truck tomorrow. I'm driving to Oklahoma City in the morning and driving it back, about 13 hours round trip. I really would prefer to trailer it, but I couldn't resist the 6 hour drive back to Louisiana.

I plan on taking it pretty easy on the return trip since the CE only has 52 miles on it. I had them change the oil and clean it up just to be sure.

Is there anything I should check for when I pick it up? What is the break in period on the RT-10?

It sure is going to be difficult not to drive 120 MPH all the way back. :)

First off, congratulations on the new truck. Just so you know DC saved the most powerful engines for the special editions, like yours and the Yellow Fevers. Don't let these guys with the standard colors Bull Shit you.

Break in is 500 miles. More that anything this is for the clutch. The engine is pretty much ready to go. By the time you get part way home it will be Party Time.:D :p

Congrats dude, take pics with your new baby. I hope you are taking a navigator as well, 13 hours is a long trip solo.:D

Congrats dude! What did ya get it for?

First thing you should do is make sure they didnt overfill the truck with oil. Small insurance policy for yourself.

Welcome to the club.... I to wanted to feel her right away, drove mine back from Auburn California 527/miles

congrats!
Quick

Congrats dude and please take it easy on the clutch. No revs over 3k for those first 500 miles. The stock clutch is unfortunatly very weak and glazing it will only burn it up even faster.

One more thing, full throttle around turns while very fun can turn into a Nascar spin very quickly!!!!! Respect the snakes power!!!

WooHoo - nice purchase!

Be careful with the beast as everyone has already said. Spare yourself the clutch headaches and a potential ticket.

Post some pics as soon as you can!

I've been busy working, but I managed to put on 430 miles since I picked it up Thursday. The drive home was 375 miles alone. I'm very happy with the truck and I can't wait to polish her up tomorrow.

I found two problems on the truck when I picked it up. One was a small scratch on the LH corner of the front bumper cover, which will polish out. The big problem I have is the plate on the dash is bent on the corners. It looks like some jackass tried to steal it. It is a slight bend, but it's bent never the less. Can those numbered plates be replaced?

I complained to the dealer, but I pretty much stole the truck and they were not about to do anything else. :dontknow:
