Pics of Custom VEC Install - Help

I have used the search feature, but I was overwhelmed with the number of threads returned.

I am looking for the VEC install with the card reader mounted in the dash. Can someone point me to that install? Was the entire VEC unit mounted inthe dash? Was a card reader mounted there with the brain somewhere else?

I have seen pics of one but not a DIY install with pics. The VEC is all one unit with the card read/writer integrated all in one. You have to get a custom harness from Sean to install it in the cab(Just lengthing the cables).

If you have any questions on the wiring, let me know.

some folks say this i is a easy install, but id let a installer do this, i cant solder and from what ive heard this thing has to be done right.

I found the pic late last night. It was Bone that mounted it in the dash adjacent to the pocket under the radio.

I will have to ask ROE if a remote card reader can be linked to the VEC. The VEC seems a a little large to try and house behind the panel. I do not really want to hack up the dash internals to do this. Besides don't I want the ability for a tuner to be able to link directly to the VEC?

You can still have access to the VEC for tuning with it mounted inside. You could let the cable dangle behind the center console or mount it flush in the ashtray. Alot of folks have mounted their VEC's in the vehicle to protect it from the weather.

Its also easier to access it for logging under driving conditions with it mounted in the cab.

Anyone connect their AEM a/f gauge to the VEC? I'm trying to figure out how to do it or which open port in the back of the vec to connect it to.
