Got the '72 Blazer out of the garage yesterday and cleaned her up in preparation for our upcoming car show in 2 weeks. I havent taken any digital pics of her so I thought I'd share a few with you.

I got the truck in highschool (my first vehicle in my name) which was 1985 or so. Of course it was a different color and totally stock. I've added the 4 inch Rancho lift, 33x12.50 tires, the original motor is still in the truck but has been bored out to 383 cubic inches. I have no idea on horsepower/torque numbers but would love to dyno it someday. Future plans (when I stop modding the SRT) include a rebuild or change to a large crate motor, 6 inch lift, 35 inch tires, complete the interior and stereo system. I hope to leave this truck to my 6 year old for his first vehicle.

Anyway, the market on '72 and earlier body style Blazers seems to be going up. You'll see lots of the pickups...not many Blazers. Maybe someday I'll find a 2 wheel drive version and mimic all the enhancements of my 4x4...just slam it to the ground. Current mileage is 97,500 or so...stock tranny.

Very Nice! I have always liked the K5 Blazer! Well played!

Looks great Dave. That would be a very rare truck up here.

That is a fine looking Blazer. It shows you have a lot of pride in it.

I need to re-focus on it and get it finished. MY ex's next door neighbor is building a 50's something pickup in the Denver area. I'm not familiar with who's good and who's not regarding interior work, motor replacement, etc hence nothing has gotten done. He's gonna take me to his shop and show me his truck soon. He's got contacts or at least knows of the better places to do business. I'm hoping to finally get it done the way I've wanted to for many years now. Its something I can be proud to hand down to my son when he's hopefully able to drive.

Thanks for all the kind words!! :)

And I'll bet the gas mileage is as impressive as our SRT's!!:p ;)

Once I drove it from denver to south dakota. I believe I got single digit mpg. When the secondarys open up thats it for gas mileage.

Nice Blazer...does it have one of them Hemi's? :)

No HEMI, but I thought about transplanting my busted SRT Ram V10 into it once I got it fixed (if its fixable). This Blazer with an aluminum V10 would be killer!!
