Place to test top speed?

Here's a stupid idea. . .

How about a dyno? :dontknow: :D

Me too. I had mine to 145. I got worried a dog would walk out, or a farmer would come off a gravel so I backed out of it although I could see nothing in each direction for an estimated mile. Had lots of pedal left but, I dont want to kill anyone. If anyone knows of a place like the thread says that is doable I'd haul 200 miles to try it from Arkansas. I figure at least a mile would be needed (a smooth mile). I'd love to try a 5 mile track like the one I heard of in Germany. (dont want to go that far though)

yeah i have only once had my truck to 155 but it was wide open road no one around and could see front or back for miles the one good thing to tx.. scared the hell out of me but it still had room to go so.. only time i have done that wanted to see where she would stop.. still dont know..

MAXTON, in eastern NC has 2 events each year, but you'll have to pass tech for your anticipated speed.

Heck, I can hit 110 by the end of the entrance ramp getting on I380. I was following a guy in a tricked out Mustang on the way to Rockford, Ill. He was moving pretty good on I88. I wasn't paying attention to the speedo. I was more concerned about cops, but when I eventually looked down I was doing 140. I could not believe how smooth it was at that speed. There wasn't anyone hardly on the road beside us.

A track would be optimal for a test. However, if you do find a road, make sure it is flat and in good condition. Drive it at the speed limit first to look for truck ruts or pot holes. As stated earlier...make sure your tires are in good condition and at the right pressure. Also make sure you are doing it when there is no one else around. Lastly, if you are going to try something dumb, do it by yourself so you aren't taking someone out with you.

...My 2 cents

DISCLAIMER: It is not advised to drive a vehicle at its maximum speed on a public road. Those that try it are doing so at their own risk to imprisonment, death, or both. If it is the latter, your death will be labeled as natural selection (self elimination from the gene pool).
