I've had the centerforce/viper slave upgrade for about 5,000 miles. The pedal used to be firm from the top but now has about 3" of play in it before it gets firm and dis-engages the clutch. Any hints what it could be? Air in the line maybe I need to bleed the clutch? I checked the fluid resivor and althugh not full to the top i can see fluid in there. I checked the pedal linkage and all is good there just the silver rod its connected to moves in and out of that cylinder dealy too easy.

I hate to do this but I have the same question. Mine has been like this from day one. I have about 2 inches of play then I feel the pressure. I checked everything out when the new trans went in....all looked good.....

It is more than likely air in the system, are you experiancing any difficulty in putting it into gear when it's hot?

Also, make sure you have the correct spacer installed on the master cylinder!!

From FSTJACK via PM:

Chad,

As the clutch wears the disengagement point moves towards the top of travel. It sounds like what you have is normal. I would go ahead and bleed the clutch hydraulics anyway to make sure there is no air in the system. You did not indicate what type of fuuid you are using.
Hope it is a high temp like Motul 600 or Neo 610. If not change it out as the stock type fluid will boil lin warm weather, causing loss of clutch disengagement.

I am going to check. I didn't mean to butt in on the thread bro! But thanks for sharing the Info!!!

The way our clutches are designed the release point in the peddle should never change, the spring around the slave always keeps realease bearing upagaist the pressure plate, it's always going to take the same amount of fluid being push into the slave to disengage the clutch. As the clutch wears it also pushes more fluid into the master...

Then again I could be full of it...
