We are gathered here today to mourn the passing of one of our own. A Viper at birth, and a Viper at death. Slain by the Squire of Turbonia, another of the Generation of III hath passed before its time, and its warranty having thus been denied by the evil-doers of the local dealership.

But yea, the passing is but another stage of existence. Soon to be received in the bosom of Todd, the gates of Arrow shall swing wide. There to be reborn, it shall be cleansed of all earthly failures. The #4 hole through which life escaped it shall be filled with the strength forged of Diamond, and connected in the most Manley of ways. It shall draw breath on the turning of Crane, through a port match made in heaven. Its power touching the face of Fidanza by way of Centerforce, it shall rise and smite those who oppose it, burning with the vapor of Pirelli.

My brethren, weep not. Though there is a great emptiness in my engine bay, the heart of the Ram shall beat yet again, and leave its mark at the doorstep of the nonbelievers.

Amen.

PS For those of you who guessed at the contents of the crate I posted on the other site, you now know it was not a crate. It was a coffin.

Hmmmm..

Lemmie guess... :hmmmm2: Was a stage II flash part of your monster's mod repertoire:questionmark:

Been there - more than once, and it kinda sucks. Sorry.

Hopefully things will go smooth for your rebuild, then be better,, err,, faster than ever when finished!

Maybe I missed it but was your truck on forced induction? I cant wait to get my broken parts back so I can gaze at them and how much money they are gonna cost me.

Hello Eric

First off, sorry you and Shelly were unable to join us last Saturday.:( You guys were missed. Between running your business, building a new home, and working on the truck I can understand that you don't have much free time.

That crate may be a coffin today,:( but it will be a giver of new live when it returns in a short time.:)

Any idea when you will get the engine back?

Thanks for the condolences my brothers.

It will likely be a couple of months before I see the crate back, but there's plenty to do in the mean time.

Sorry we couldn't make it to the lunch, Silver. Just couldn't break away mid-day, as we were making the final changes before sheetrock. Next time for sure.

my cobra did the same thing. And the culprit would prove to be improper tune from to much boost also aiding the failure was detonation from insufficient fuel.

It is my called to action duty i believe to start educating the mass. here in this story lies what I believe an over boosting problem from the STS kit. Now there is something that might could have saved this motor and it would have been either race fuel or lower timing.

I plan to biuld my own single 88mm turbo kit and make as much as possible horsepower that i can. BUT I will do it with race fuel and timing. Also another thing we should look at is the plugs, a colder plug could also prolong the life of this motor. I believe that we should have 2 tunes on these trucks. one for the street with low timing and one for the track with the timing raised and race fuel added.

the only problem that i am forcasting is a fuel system to support all of the power.

Thanks.

It's odd the kinds of things you think of writing when yanking the engine out of something you're still making payments on. I knew there was some levity to be had there somewhere.

What is it with these turbo setups???? Its so friggen sad for you guys. After following the outcomes of the last year I cant imagine anybody would install a STS on another srt10. Maybe I am just overreacting but dam, thats how many engines now???

Good luck with the rebuild bro. Whats gonna be the outcome, STS again or what? Still making payments too!! Dam that sucks as well!!

I'm having Deja Vu all over again - and again!

You didn't mention if you're going to stay with the boost or what. My new set of stock compression pistons are done and will ship tomorrow. Mine may be up and running in two to three weeks but it'll be breathing on it's own. No more turbo for me.

Hope the rebuild goes well and happens quick!

Still kinda on the fence about that, but I will have to decide on my CR soon. It's a debate over 9:1 and the Roe SC (whenever that becomes available...), or 10:1 and the Stryker heads (with a possible future nitrous/propane kit for the occasional pass down the strip). If this is going to be my daily driver again, an N/A setup would probably suit me the best. I'm not trying to build a dyno queen or track monster, just a fast, reliable street machine.

Those stryker heads with a cam and headers will be perfect for a very fast daily driver....figure 575 to the wheels....then add a 150 shot for track days.......the best of both worlds.....
