We have been having a rash of copper thefts and tonight this thief forgot to turn off the power and got his ass burned up when he grabbed the wire to pull it out.

Copper is the new gold. I have talked to many companies that install cat5 cables and all of them are making sure their copper wire is secured before they leave a site. Copper demand is through the roof these days. Crooks are just trying to cash in, most of them are to stupid to due so....

They passed a law here in Oklahoma where all scrap purchased, has to be photographed and the customers Driver license scanned and stored in a data base.

I feel no pitty for the turd. It reported all the time about copper theives stealing a churches, or some poor old ladies air conditioner for the metal.

It's the buyers who perpetuate this crap. If they would refuse to buy what is clearly stolen copper this would not continue. I mean why would a guy be selling brand new pipes that were clearly hacked off at the ends? It's a problem everywhere. What the thieves get for it is nothing compared to the cost to repair what they damage. They hit one of my construction sites twice and took all the bathroom plumbing that had just been installed and they dug up the phone cables at another location of mine. Dirty bastards.
