It is a vest that we have overseas, not the newest model but a good vest nonetheless. Still in use. Bulky would be the biggest complaint. I believe the military requirement was most handguns and rifle ammo up to a 44 magnum (similar to IIIA). You can later add strike plates too.

I thought Dragonskin was bogus as they failed the testing for military issue? I know that it's against regs to have it in theater.

The testing was classified. What I have heard and read in open sources, is that it did not fail the tests at Aberdeen. There was some environmental controversy.

It is level III certified by NIJ.

I think the History channel did a piece on it shooting an AK-47 without failure through several clips.
