I've started polishing my intake manifold, and wanted to show you guys the progress I've made so far. I'm still a far from completing it, but I think it coming out pretty good if I do say so myself.

Looks good so far, polishing sucks, lots of work...It looks a million times better than mine:D

Very Nice!!!!!!!!

Looking good. I have done motorcycle frames, but they are pretty flat. My concerm would be keeping the round parts round. Like up around the TB area.

Looks like a lot of work Alex. Did you pick up your truck today?

Hard part is keeping it looking nice after you get it done. Are you going to get it clear coated afterwards?

I polished an edlebrock torker intake on my 62 and keeping it looking good was a chore to keep it looking good.

Looks awsome, your engine is going to really pop when you open the hood.

Now that you have it polished you should send it to be plated. Much easier to keep clean.

I was thinking about that, but rather than plating it. I was thinking about jet hotting the intake.

Send it to Justin, he will make it look AWESOME...

might want to have some clear coat sprayed over that when you're done. it might dull the finish a little bit but it will keep it clean!

Here is a little teaser pic how the intake is coming out. This is after 800 grit wet sanding.

That is kick ass man. Your patients is paying off. I just refinished some old cast iron cookwear passed down from the great grandparents. Powertools are great.

Ive wondered if it is possible to cut the top of the intake plenum off, to allow direct access port and polish the inside. It would be easier to get to the runners. Then weld it back up. Retouch the polish on the outside welds. When you get it dipped the inside and outside would be smooth as chrome. Not trying to threadjack ya but if i had my intake out for this project, this is something i would consider.
