Ok, I need some information from yall.

I am going to set up a GTG at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Ga.

I need to know which of two ways to set up the gathering.

The gathering will either be in late February or sometime in March.

Atlanta Dragway has Friday Night Grudge Racing, on Friday Nights ( explained for Stinker, lol), gates open at about 7:00 pm. Run to about Midnight. To race, about $20.00. to watch is about $10.00.
This usually begins in March.

OR

I can arrange to lease the track just for us, and Lightings, on a Saturday. The cost will be more to lease the track. Anywhere from $50.00 to $100.00 a truck. Leasing the track will allow us to run as many times as we want with no interuptions. We are the only ones there. If we lease the track, we may only get one lane. the cost of both lanes goes up because of the insurance we have to purchase through NHRA. Will try for two lanes. This will be set up in late February, before Atlanta Dragway's season opens.

So, If your are truly interested, cast your vote so I will know how to set up the Gathering.

PS - regardless of which way we set this up, I will say those who show up and agree to run a bracket race, there will be a First Place Prize and a Second Place Prize. I cannot tell you what the prizes will be, yet. However, the First Place Prize will be worth about $350.00 and it involves attending a NHRA Drag Event.

Four People have responded to the Poll. Ok, lets get the rest on the Eastern Coastal area to poll up. Come on Florida Boys, Alabama Boys and the Carolina Boys. Any further that are coming, lets post up. Need to Know so I can make the necessary arrangments.
Thanks

whats up ken????
you know I will go down to georgia... lol sounds like the name of a song...

ok ken .... tell everybody that the devil (me) is coming down to georgia:D

Ken, How many trucks does it take to make the $100.00 cost per truck fly and how many for $50.00 per truck.

I know you have done this in the past and it cost you thousands out of pocket.

Very nice of you to organize this for the guys, but I don't want to see you left holding the bag again.

Sorry for the delay in posting.... it was great talking to you the other day Ken.
Thanks for putting this together.... all the better to get dates set, so I can get the time off to go. :D

Jack,
I'm sure Stinker will give him something to hold, if not "the bag".:D

Thanks Jack and you are right. I cant hold the bag this time due to my recent financial obligation. However, I think I can lease the track cheaper this time than last time :D . The only thing is where I can get both lanes. One lane is no problem and we had fun running on one lane last time. Im inviting the Lightings, also. So that way more trucks less cost per person, hopefully.

Ken,
I can probably get some Harley F-150's to show if you would like me to pass the word. Just understand that they will more than likely spank our A$$.

Yes please Ron. Any performance truck is invited. Im going to Atlanta Dragway on Monday to take care of some business. I will talk with them about leasing the track on a Saturday in February. I believe that will be most conveinent for everyone.

Thanks again

Posted the meet on the Harley board. This should be interesting.

If anyone is already on the Lighting forum could you please post it there also. I will but I would be new and they might not be to receptive because they did not know me.

Update - 09-14-2006

I met with Ray Wilkins, GM, for Atlanta Dragway this past Monday, 09-11-2006. The month February is out because it is usually still to cold to open the track. This year they canceled everything for the month of February because of the cold weather conditions.

However, he recommeded Saturday, November 11 of this year. It is the end of the year for their racing season and the track is available.

He is going to check on the cost for leasing the track for 4 hours that day. He will call me with the figures and I will post a new thread to find out how many will attend.

So, check your calendar to see if you can attend on Saturday, November 11, 2006.

Keep yall posted.
