popping out of gear...

Hey got the stock 06 rc. i got the B&M shifter installed. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with the truck popping out of first gear when leaving a light or something. Sometimes happens with reverse.

Is this a spider gear issue?

The only time mine has ever jumped out of gear was when I did not get it in good enough.

make sure when tighten the shifter down its in a diaganol pattern and i personally like to torque the bolts to about 23nm

i do an intiall torque of about 10 then do 23 the second time around.


also, make sure put the shifter fimrly into gear. it likes it like that

ok, i;'ll try that. It seems to pop out of gear when leaving from a complete stop. I'll try to take it apart and try that. is 23 nm 23 foot pounds??

23 NM is 17 ft lbs. Sounds like a syncro, fork pad, or detent issue to me, not a spider gear problem.

Steve at my age lube is the last thing I need. I just have the old lady stand on her head and I just drop it in.
