I removed my intake last night to send it off to be powdercoated. Once it was removed i noticed that where the gaskets ride on the intake i was measuring about .20 thousands of restricted flow. I would have to guess if you were to take and port and polish atleast .10 thousands off the surface edge and say maybe taper it into the chamber approx. .75 inches and polish each chamber wouldn't this help with horsepower:dontknow: Although i have never done it, seems with alot of patience and my free time wouldn't it be well worth the effort? I hope i have explained everything well enough. Any suggestions or input would be appreciated!
Thanks
Ernie

from what ive hear a half inch in would do, it cant hurt, just make sure and clean it out real good when your done. use a wheel with sandpaper on it not a die grinding cutter if you know what im talking about.

You will pick up a slight trace of improvement- it will be further enhanced if you installed an aftermarket cam.............

"Port Matching" has been used by Pro Racers for many years, it is very helpful on engines where you want all the horsepower the engine and setup are capable of producing.

You really should do this, your gonna need every trick in the book at the Florida GTG.:D :D :D

paint the truck silver while your at it, thats good for a few hp

I port matched mine last year along with the heads:rock: When I done my cam swap last year:D It takes awhile to do it right and get them good and slick;)

The local shop here can port match for a low price if anyone is interested.

Maybe i should sit back and think this through now......... Maybe save up a few bucks and in the near future: pull the intake back off port match it to the heads and replace the cam and possibly even do some internal work........probably the smart thing to do huh!

If you are serious, I will go over and ask the price. They did my Roe Intake for 200 bucks as I remember. Should be about the same.
