Possible terror attack on Northwest jet

Yes, we do need to root out those that have evil in their hearts and intend us harm, no matter what their race, religion, or nationality happens to be. But I don't think there is a need to vilify entire populations of people, the majority of which are likely innocent. Just think about the poor bastards that are unlucky enough to be born in places where these lunatics run the show.
You know what? I know all these things. I never post anything really on this forum. This was just an experiment. I post one Phuckin thing and people are ready to spoon feed you with all their philosophy.!! LMFAO:rock:

Steve, since you are very close to ground zero, you are probably more sensitive to what those SOB's have done to us. I certainly think you are entitled to your opinion without being scolded for it!!!

Oh yes absolutly . I was a volunteer with the NYPD and was there cleaning up the mess. And a mess it was without going into details. And yes I realize it takes a few bad apples to spoil the bunch but it always seems that Im surrounded by these " bad apples " . Here in the city if you go to a news stand, hail a cab, go into a convenience store you are surrounded with this culture.! You never know whos who:(

Well I suppose then that I should also be entitled to my opinion. After all I did serve as part of a peace keeping force deployed at the Beirut airport and was lucky enough to have left about a week before the barracks there were bombed. I lost a lot of fellow Marines there as well as some very close friends. But none of that necessarily makes my opinion right.

Everyone, and I do mean everyone, is entitled to their opinions. At least that's my opinion hehe.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But make stupid statements that do nothing but make the problem more difficult is irresponsible. According to your "experimental" comment Steve, we should kill every woman that wears red and happens to be within striking distance of the Pope.

Your comment remains stupid...but yes you are entitled to make it. I did not try to censure your words, just point out how poorly the thought process behind such a comment was conducted, if there was any thought at all.

I just happen to think that people are either part of the problem or part of the solution...and I bet you believe that too.

You didn't understand what I meant by "experiment". Reread it :)

I have just re-read your comments.

And I still feel that comments like that should always be addressed. In my personal opinion to not call "foul" on those kind of comments is opting to allow ludicrous statements to go unchallenged. Did you think that no one would comment on your comment? This is a forum...where everything is read by lots of people...some stand by and just watch, others support the comments and some opine on the comments...

Sorry, I still don't get your "experiment" reference...what were you trying to determine?

You and I go back a few years...and I was just very surprised by your post...very surprised.

No you did get it. Since I never ever ever make posts like this I wanted to see how long it took before it was attacked by a wave of critical analysis.

Well I still do not understand your experiment design...but I will let it drop, and assume that you were just having fun and not serious about your comments.

If I am wrong, just don't tell me and let me be blissfully ignorant...and we will all be happy.

And if my response was inappropriate please accept my personal and sincere apology.

And may you have a Happy Holiday as well!

Just an added comment on the terrorist that tried to bring down the Northwest flight into Detroit...

While he did not cause an accident...he was successful in changing our way of life...I presume that most of us will have to grant that he was to some extent successful...

This could lead to a new strategy...doing things that continuously cause us to amend the way we lead our lives, they are taking our freedom and liberty away piece by piece...

I feel Steve's pain. When I was in NYC during 9/11 there was an unforgettable local new coverage scene during the collapsing towers. Four ME students were shown on the NJ shore of the Hudson cheering and waving their fists in triumph as if they were Dominicans and at a Yankee's game. And I'm willing to bet my right testicle that the American government was fitting their education bills. That deeply saddens me.

I was there recently at Ground Zero and all I could focus on were the droves of MEasterners casually hanging around the area as a majority, watching the rebuilding process, selling kabobs and sausages to the onlookers and tourists. With that scene you could almost consider Ground Zero “New Mecca.â€￾ I became angry inside as my heart sank in my chest. And that was just ONE Saturday morning. It's really hard not to wonder what the hell they were doing there. Were they spying? Were they mourning the loss of their brethren? were they celebrating the false sense of accomplishment of their brethren? were they there because they are sorry for what happened there? As righteous people, we have to try and remain above a negative train of thought. But as an American I cannot be so easily forgiving. Especially if I were in Steve’s shoes working in lower Manhattan, seeing this kind of thing occurring day in and day out. Steve isn’t displaying hate. He’s displaying frustration. What red-blooded American wouldn’t?

Just who need we need to give more power and responsibility to... the TSA. People who are too stupid to think for themselves, people who couldn't make it as real cops but with too much ego to be a security guard, the gestapo of the airports.

I'm tired of this political correctness bullshit, not all muslims are terrorists but all of the terrorists are muslim. Yes profiling singles out one people group but it's by far the most cost effective way to stop a problem perpetrated by said people group. No old white or black grandma/grandpa has ever tried to blow up a plane and that the TSA feels like they can treat them like common criminals is despicable.

Roy, since this Nigerian wasn't successful in snuffing out innocent lives I welcome this incident merely because it will force our government to review and amend current protocol regarding homeland security and make governments around the world step up their security measures. If anything it was a wake up call for the DHS to get their heads out their asses and make Secretary Janet Napolitano stop thinking everything has been “running smoothly.â€￾ This man was permitted to board a plane without a passport? WTF? In all of my travels (even to the remotest forgotten corners of the globe) I have never seen anybody get near a plane without a passport. Someone seriously needs their ass kicked for that one.

You're right Joe, but when have we seen a Nigerian try something like this? It seems the order now is to use people we wouldn't normally suspect, like the old white or black grandma/grandpa types. That would be an easy way to get around the cost effective profiling. This Nigerian was doing fine in his twisted endeavor (even getting through security without a passport) until he began acting suspicious in the plane. That shit is kah-ra-zeee. We're going to have to profile everyone eventually. I don't mind if they profile me at the airports because I know I'm not doing anything wrong. I welcome the extra security. How many fools do you think will still get fed up and agitated because they must remove their socks too?
