I have not read much about the incident...but if he had a visa...which I did read, and has been in the US twice before...he must have had a passport...right???
Venom Power said:I feel Steve's pain. When I was in NYC during 9/11 there was an unforgettable local new coverage scene during the collapsing towers. Four ME students were shown on the NJ shore of the Hudson cheering and waving their fists in triumph as if they were Dominicans and at a Yankee's game. And I'm willing to bet my right testicle that the American government was fitting their education bills. That deeply saddens me.
I was there recently at Ground Zero and all I could focus on were the droves of MEasterners casually hanging around the area as a majority, watching the rebuilding process, selling kabobs and sausages to the onlookers and tourists. With that scene you could almost consider Ground Zero “New Mecca.†I became angry inside as my heart sank in my chest. And that was just ONE Saturday morning. It's really hard not to wonder what the hell they were doing there. Were they spying? Were they mourning the loss of their brethren? were they celebrating the false sense of accomplishment of their brethren? were they there because they are sorry for what happened there? As righteous people, we have to try and remain above a negative train of thought. But as an American I cannot be so easily forgiving. Especially if I were in Steve’s shoes working in lower Manhattan, seeing this kind of thing occurring day in and day out. Steve isn’t displaying hate. He’s displaying frustration. What red-blooded American wouldn’t?

I sometimes wonder how many real innocent people there are in those countries. After 9/11 they showed people in the streets dancing and cheering in celebration of what happened. These were not just "Extremist". There were women and children in those crowds celebrating what had happened. And this celebration was not just one isolated occurance related to 9/11.
I have to admit that when I see that happening, it would not hurt my feelings if they dropped a nice nuclear bomb on their asses.
Something to think about. The majority of these people do not think the way we do. How did Saddam maintain power and control of the people? They understood that if they got out of line, they would die. And not only they would die, but their entire extended family would probably also be killed. They understood that if they did something, the punishment would be 100 times greater.
What is happening over there now? Chaos. There is no control or punishment. We do not kill even 1/10 of the trouble makers, so they are free to continue what they do to kill our soldiers. They have no fear of reprisal.
As soon as we leave, the democracy will fall and some other dictator will assume power and rule with an iron fist. These people do not understand what it takes to make a democracy work and function. It's not that much different than taking a 16 year old kid that just got his drivers licence and strapping him in a F1 car. It's not going to work out.
I agree Larry, How can the people watch their family and friends, Women, And children killed in masses and not take up arms. They want the U.S. to hand it to them at our expense, And in the end they will not fight to keep it.TNVIPER said:I have been saying the same thing since we started removing the Taliban & Hussan.......These people do not understand what freedom is. Our fore fathers fought for freedom. They rose up against dictators & kings. They WON their freedom.
Just like kids who are given everthing they want....they never appreciate what they have. If they had to work for it then it would mean something.
