Can you only edit your posts within the first 36 hrs or so? I'd like to update my for sale thread but I no longer have the button available to "edit post".

I think they only give you three hours to make changes/delete a post. Something like that.

You can edit a post for up to 4 hours, then it is closed. You can however just update the thread by clicking reply in the thread and making a new post with the updated information.

The reason 4 hours was chose was because we had a problem with people (basically) starting fight, then claiming they never said what they said (edited after the fact). So to keep things in line, a 4 hour window was established about a year or so ago.
