Some take satisfaction in the knowlege that their thoughts are well reasoned and accurately expressed. On the other hand, there are those who really couldn't give a shit..... I'm referring (specifically) to those who use no capital letters to begin each sentence.... No periods at the end.....etc... etc... You've seen it.... Just a mishmosh of jumbled letters that resemble the results of an explosion of the English alphabet.

There have been accusations levied (at me mostly) stating that my ilk use the English language as a weapon to demean others with an M.O. tantamount to some racist redneck trying to "keep the ****** down"...

Bullshit and cockie doodie......!!

I speak the way I do because it's become 2nd nature to me..... and the last motivation I could possibly desire would be to demean or look down on someone who's not an erudite. (learned person)

I'm simply saying that there are those who's posts are sloven and unreadable. These individuals have a more than sufficient ability to communicate but are so bloody lazy that they won't even push the "shift" key or drop a simple period at the end of a sentence....

As much as it pains me to compliment Stinker about anything, I'd have to award him the distinction of "most improved" in this category. He has really made an effort to show readers greater respect with simple and proper usage..... His stuff used to be unreadable..... Now, it's pretty damn easy on the eyes... (You too, Venom Power)

I'm referring to those who seem to take great pride in posting like some kid who needs to be told repeatedly to pull his frickin' pants up. They seem to relish the brand of "peasant snobbery" apparently derived from speaking and writing poorly..... I don't care whether someone uses polysyllabic (long/many syllabled) words or not. What I do resent is those whose sheer laziness causes them to intentionally create an unreadable post. It is rude, unfair and probably won't be read anyway........

End of rant:

What do you think........? (besides "FkYouDjango"):p  :dontknow:

Oh boy, I can see it coming now.
This is going to be fun.

Erudite - The new word for the day.

:congrats: Well said...
I take pride and the time to make sure my posts here, or anywhere, are legible and sensible b/c I want my thoughts, questions, responses, etc. understood and clearly expressed... I cannot stand it either when some posts are just gibberish or chopped and diced up...

Another reason I love this place more than the car site I was/am still on, b/c the posts are much more clearly and easily read here... :)

I agree. I spend alot of time with my posts, too. I take pride in my spelling and for the most part my grammar. I have had alot of practice at it though :D :p

Fck you, Django! :D

I agree. Some (apparently "heart-felt") rants on here have been passed up (by me) because of poor writing skills. :( :dontknow: Now, I'm not saying that I am the greatest writer..... (I flunked "English" more times than Fiddy-Cent :D ) But, I did enjoy Essay Writing class in High School. It was the only class that I got an "A+" in..... EVER!

I think that the folks that write in a way that is being described by our friend, Django, cannot be helped..... because they don't want to (be). :dontknow: They are how they are. :) Hell, I speak to people every day that make MILLIONS at what they do........ and they can't put a good sentence together with a map and a compass. :dontknow:

no habla engles dumkoff. Punta. :D :D :D :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :thefinger: :p :p :p ;) ;) ;)

I also try to make my post appear OK. But I know I am no English major and with some your post (Django) I try to strive to be better with my gramatical skills. There have been many times I had to break out the dictionary with some of your posts. But it was worth it.:D

Thanks for making myself better and I am sure others have been affected in the same way.;)

Seriously ??????????????/ Well den ok

Shared meaning is the goal of communication. Anything that gets in the way of that is noise. Poor grammar, lack of punctuation or even the use of vocabulary that is not common to both the sender and the receiver lessens the chance of achieving shared meaning.

If you don't write well seek help. It's very important.

Well, D...... It's been brought up before. :dontknow: IMO, if 12 (or maybe less) years of school hasn't been able to teach the people in question good Engrish, all I have to say is...........

"You can't fix "stupid"". :dontknow: :D

I don't have too big of a problem with proper punctuation, i know mine isn't the best as many other have said... but what i can't understand is the need to use all capital letters when describing something. It takes everything you say out of context. We already have enough troubles understanding each other as the internet is not the best form of personal communication. Sarcasm just never seems to come through properly. :D
