power steering issues

Aloha...power steering giving out at low speeds when parking etc. Searched the forum but need more specifics...fluid is full and truck has 17k miles.

Mine does that every now and then after it rains...I live on Oahu!

Apparently, the power steering pumps are an issue as of late. Just make sure your belts are in good condition and make sure your crank pulley is tight. If those are straight brahdduh, it's most likely the pump. Just keep an eye on 'em!

My truck did this just the other day. Be sure to check your balancer bolt! Make sure it is not loose and torqued to 130 ft lbs. Otherwise, I guess it is common?

There are problems with the power steering pump. Your symptoms sound like mine when my pump was going bad. Had the truck at the dealer for another problem and they noticed it and ordered a new pump for it. Haven't had a problem since.

they are not cheap!! I just put a new one on mine and it was $230.00 bones for the pump.:rock:
