.....well I usually don't do this but there are a lot of folks here.

I got a call from my aunt last night with some bad news. My dad has 2 sisters. The older of the 2 sisters (43) found out she has breast cancer. She is having an operation on Dec. 17th and they will determine if it has spread to her lymphnodes. It has just hit us at a hard time of the year. Dec. 17th is the day her mother( my grandmother) passed away in 1995. Thanks for the prayers and I will update when I know something.
 
prayers going out Travis. it would make a very nice xmas present if the results come back in her favor! hoping it does....
 
The operation on the 17th is a masectomy. Not sure if it is both sides or just one.

Guys! Make your wives/girlfriends or both have their mammogram DONE! She had her first one at 40 and they saw some "small" stuff. They said nothing to worry about yet but come back EVERY year. Well you know how that goes. Two years went by and didn't go back. She found a lump herself and then went back. :(
 
Thanks, guys. It means a lot! I lost my mother to cancer when I was 11 y/o. Prayers mean a lot!
 
You have my prayers,
I know quite a few women who have battled that beast and won. My mother, my neighbor, a couple co-workers, some other relatives, etc.

My neighbor decided that she wanted to go bigger with an implant in her remaining breast and has had some problems with that, but she is still cancer free.

They have come a long way and the chances for most women now are pretty good.

Unfortunatly the bad one is Ovarian cancer which does not have as good a success rate. That took my mother 23 yrs after her bout with Breast cancer at age 60 and it also took my sister when she was 50. My 2 remaining sisters have now tested positive for the gene that most women who get the disease have, so they both have had their ovaries removed as a precaution.

Cancer is a horrible thing but early detection is the key, if they found this early in your aunt chances are she will come out OK. There may be some bumps in the road ahead but always keep a positive attitude, she'll make it.

And guys as uncomfortable as that finger up the behind is, we all have to do it. Early detection is just as important for men.
 
Hey brother my prayers are with her, and as long as you keep her motivated and in good spirits she'll do fine. My wife is a survivor of 4 yrs and now the treatments the used are even better, so help her keep her head up. And if she needs anyone to talk to let me know I will get my wife in contact with her if she needs someone to talk to. And your right guys get your ladies to check it out, also especially if they have taken birth control or are currently taken High dose birth control. Scary. God Bless.

A Prayer to St. Peregrine for Sick Relatives and Friends

St. Peregrine, you have been called "The Mighty", "The Wonder Worker" because
of the numerous miracles which you obtained from God for those who have turned to you in
their need. For so many years, you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys
the very fiber of our being.
