Same wife and three kids two business friend at h and r block and he told me today when he files for k I'll get close 8000 or so back

Nothing special, I just use the free prep from H&R Block for Military. You can find a link from militaryonesource.com
Earned Income Tax credit for the kids, plus standard deductions and a VA state refund for the income tax I paid there.
It's a broken system, "poor" people with kids get hooked up.

If I paid into state income tax I'd get even more back, but FL doesn't charge income tax, so I make slightly more per paycheck and only have to worry with Federal come tax season.
