Problem in Belgium

Hi Guys,

I know it's my first post here, but I'm havind huge problems importing my dodge Ram in Belgium.

The government is making a problem about the seatbelt. They have to be conform FMVSS standard or European standards.

All I can find on the net is that they are conform FMVSS 209, but I can't find any proof on that.

Some people fromthe dutch forum usatrucks.nl helped me out a lot by telling me the accordance numbers are on the retractor. I noticed there are a lot of numbers on it.

Does anybody over here know which number I need?

Hope you can help me.

I'd suggest you to give a couple of hundreds to someone and have it done, you know what I mean?

I'm actually registering my truck in Germany for the same reason, then importing to Italy.

EU laws suck, Italian ones are even worse
 
Unfortunately Barry can't help me.

Can anyone tell me where i can find a certificate or number that the seatbelt are according to SAE J4C????????

I'm becoming a bit desperate for the moment.

sorry BUN, i bought my truck already registerd in Belgium... have no idea or clue what you need for those apes ( sorry Silverback :p :D ) to satisfy them...
Perhaps FLOOR can help you... he's also buzzy with those papers for a year... :eek: ;) :D :D :rock: ..but take it from me, THEY are boycotting foreing cars... i'm sure... the bastards. Every year i also have to go again because the monkeys found something.... last time THEY were searching with 4 !!! for a 1/2 hour... :questionmark: :hmmmm2: :argh: :argh: :argh: .......:banghead: :afraid: :deal: :deal: :deal: :eviltongue: :eviltongue: :aetsch: :aetsch: :aetsch: :aetsch: :aetsch: :aetsch:
 
They also told me I could install Seatbelts with E-conformation.

Problem is that they probably don't exist for a dodge ram, I think.

Maybe the belts from a Cherokee or so wil also fit.

I will check this with the local dealer.

this is how one of the non-official dealers solved the same problem in the past.

I did the same.. First a registration in Germany (only paper work and €1600 euro cash) and after that a registration overhere in Holland.. Everything was finished within 4 weeks :top: Bun bought his truck in Holland with a dutch licenseplate on it, so the truck was already registered in europe :confused:. I heard before that it isn't easy to get a new licenseplate on import cars/trucks in Belgium :mad::mad::mad:
