Problem with unlocking tailgate

Anybody else have a problem with the tailgate not unlocking when you push the remote (or the unlock button on the door)?

Is this a common problem?

Is there a way to bypass the system to get the gate open?

Correct!

But I'm having a problem UNLOCKING the gate. When I push the remote I can hear the actuator working but the gate will not UNLOCK.

He or someone has installed a Pace Edwards Power Lock. It didn't come stock that way. Sounds like the solenoid is getting weak or needs lubing. Probably need to pull the inside cover of the tailgate and investigate.

I was under the impression that SRT's with the factory bed cover came stock that way. How else would you secure items in the bed with the bed cover handle on the inside?

Am I misinformed?

I'm pretty sure none of the trucks came with a tailgate lock. Even if the did, it probably would have been the less expensive key lock on the handle. The only high dollar item these trucks got was the engine.

Nope.... Mines an '05 QC w/ factory bedcover, and it (the tailgate) doesn't lock when you lock the doors. There is no lock at all. It sure would be nice, if there was a lock tho. :dontknow:

Pop'n'lock also makes one, is what I have installed.
