Prospective buyer: SCAM OR NOT?

If it don't feel good, It most likely not right.

Unlike the e-mail I got from a very important lawyer in Kenya that needs someone to help him find a good charity to give a million dollars too. The best part is that he is going to give me 50,000 for helping him. I just have to give him my account number and my Social security number, mother maid name, and my date of birth.

I am so lucky......

This is a common scam....exact wording and promises as made to my fiance when trying to sell her jeep last year. This is always going on on Craigslist and the other online sales places and it's for vehicles. I can't remember the purpose for them, but I do know it's a scam. They always want you to take it off the market, and they promise immediate payment, and they have a shipping company or represent an "interested buyer".

If you google it you will see what I mean.

Beware!!!!

I agree with the above........... RUN

Heavy smoker maybe??? Voice box? Heheheeh...

Why bother with this nut.. If money shows up and clears, do the deal. until then, keep walking.

It is so a SCAM. You voiced your concern about it being legit or a scam. He never answered. Instead he replied that you need to get him the information ASAP so he can send you a check, just like you never mentioned the word SCAM. He also mentions his shipping company can call you but he can't. How the hell did he contact his shipping company. With a pigeon? WTF kind of BS is that???? Plus you are asking $23,000 but he is willing to pay $23,200. Who does that???

That whole thing gives me the willies. Stay away and do not give them any identifying information. It is a big pile of BS.

Or send him this, maybe somebody will get a donation:

Same language I got on my Harley a few months back. Said he was interested and would wire money without any questions about the bike. Deleted it.

Travis, I wouldn't let your desire to sell override your gut feeling....

The last thing you want is a to be scammed.....

Tell this guy to send a cashiers check or money order for the total price. Once you have converted it to cash, you can send the truck.....

"won't talk to you on the phone".... ya right.........

If it smells fishy, it is fishy..... let your instincts guide you. That's why you have them.
