I got a new leaf spring for the driver side of my truck this week. The one that's on it is tweaked a little:( I was thinking about pulling the bottom leaf out of both sides:dontknow: I thought it might help with some traction problems by letting the rear end of the truck squat more under WOT. Has anybody done this to there truck:confused:

You can clamp them down a little bit too.

I have them clamped along with caltracs:D I just wondered if pulling one of the leafs out would help some too:D

I removed the extra leaf, and it will allow the truck to squat more, but you can forget any kind of towing.

what was damaged ? :dontknow:

I took out a leaf in a S-10 to level it out. It worked but I ended up with more axle hop. But with you having Caltracs I would say you would not have to worry about the axle hop.

I thought maybe It would take towing out of the question:D All I ever tow is my ski boat in the summer from storage to the launch ramp which is about 1 mile:D The tongue weight is only about 150lbs or so;)

Nana is right you can pull a leaf or two, and get more traction, but no mo tow:p

Will this affect my lowering any (higher-lower):dontknow:

The way the RC springs are , I wouldnt think it would affect the ride hieghth more than the thickness of the spring, plus probably give you a better ride in the rear:D

So I may need to trim my blocks down then. I already have 3-1/4'' blocks out back:D

I was ok with the 3" blocks, my Cal tracks and the extra leaf missing, but when I went to 4" block, It got way close, had to change backspacing of the rim, very expensive.

A 2" Shackle makes it almost perfectly level. If you remove the overload i believe it will be ass down.

Now I plan on removing the overload only when I'm ready to cut 1/4 of a coil off the front coil.
