PULLING OUT THE ENGINE VIA THE THROTTLE BODY?

Aloha..

I'm ready to pull my engine and I was told I could run strapping through the throttle body to lift out the engine....looks strong enough to me..

anyone done that?

I don't have the special engine hoist attachment..

Thanks for any input.

Never heard of that and you will risk damaging it if your straps fail....
 
Getting it ready for me Gregg?:D

I made myself some brackets when I pulled and put mine back it:(

Uhmmm......should somebody calling the "intake" a "TB" be pulling an engine?:D :aetsch:

yep thats him, i was all excited packed and everything....but i waited and never got a call so i just went to vegas

tree? that takes too long we just wrap a chain around the block and yank it out with another truck:D
 
from what i have found removing the intake and putting a bolt threw a chain and attached to the heads, thats the only way i have done it, i dont think the oil pan will clear with the intake on, then again i never tried it with the intake on.

Thats the only way i've ever pulled any engines.;)
