It's been a rough couple years for Dad... to see a big smile on his face when we got it done was priceless to me. It will be one of the moments I will cherish for the rest of my life. All those Christmas Day's where he worked hard to make it the best for us... it was so nice to see a little joy on HIS face for once.

Thanks, Roy.

Yep... Going to do a 1500 mile break-in period. The clutch needs at least 500 miles (according to Centerforce). First oil change at 300 miles... then change plugs and oil/filter again at 600 miles. Then switch to Royal Purple oil at 1500 miles. :)

...... got a lot of driving to do. :D :burnout: Going to see if I can slip in to the dyno shop and get the a/f ratio (carb tuned) next week....

Better take a timing light with you...they may not have one...:D

That is really sweet, tell your Dad I will give him a million dollars for it (If he will take a check)

What an awesome thing..... The father and son aspect truly warms my heart.

Jake, whatever happens... yer a man of great riches....

Merry Christmas, bro....

Tim

What the hell is wrong with you Jake? That thing sounds like a taxi motor.:elefant:

Where's the big ass lumpy cam that shakes the windows?:dontknow: ;) :D

Good job kid. Your dad is damn lucky to have a fine son like you.

Not as much lope as I would want... but the (AFR) heads I wanted to put on there would require a high-rise intake, which wouldn't fit under the stock hood. And I HATE the stinger hood. ;) The stock heads (aluminum "L98" corvette heads with some updates) won't take much more of a cam. I guess it could, but the bottlenecks elsewhere would make it useless, besides the lopey sound. :dontknow:

....But, I do have to say.... It sounds WAAAY better in person (especially around 3200-4200RPM... which is the limit I set for my right foot... for now). :D :burnout:

One other thing tho... If you know anyone rebuilding a Muncie 4-Speed... They NEED the updated side cover from ARM. The damn thing shifts like a f*ckin RIFLE-BOLT now! By far, the best part I've put on this car. http://www.tbtrans.com/muncie_4_speed.htm

Thanks, John... you are too kind, my dear furry friend. :elefant:

Well.... The coil (MSD Blaster 2) blew the points in the distributor... Went through two sets of the "hi-po" points and caps before giving up. :argh: Finally broke down and bought a MSD Pro-Billet (8572 w/ tach driver) and 6AL box from Summit. ...... The only thing I hate more than points are those damn (goofy assed, hillbilly-lookin, big-assed) ignition boxes. :argh: :argh: :argh: Now I gotta find a place to mount the damn thing. :dontknow: :(

.......... There's another $600 over budget!

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudge! (not in offensive section)

See if you can hang it upside down in the passenger footwell.

Looking awesome Jake! Great project and one you will always remember.:marchmellow:

Having to replace the coil sucks :argh: but at least you have done it right.:burnout:

Some of the Corvette guys say I can put the box behind the radio... never even thought about putting it inside. :dontknow:  I just need to find a grommet to run the wires (the firewall is about the only "original" part on the car, and I don't want to drill through it).

...... Why the hell does shit always have to break on a Sat/Sun, when it takes so long for stuff to ship? :argh: Parts should be here on Wednesday. I guess that gives me plenty of time to figure out where to put it. :toilet:

jake why dont you use one of the hei dist but that look like points type dist from outside.. I think they are made by flaiming river? or something like that. Anyhow it works awesome! and appears just like the oem type dist.
