What are you guys using for springs compatible with a 550-600 lift cam? Crowers springs are 1.050 O.D. and Comp is 1.509 (Dual). Comp also says head modifications are necessary...??? I know everyone is big on custom grinds but the guy doing my heads has run different cam profiles through his program and he said the 587 cam that Crower offers is right on the button for what I'm looking for (PLEASE CHIME IN IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING WE DON'T!). Have any of you guys had to make any head modifications? Also, I am staying with stock rockers so no need for valve cover spacers. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

You can run the comp or crower beehive springs to avoid machining spring seats. Basically what we run on LS engines sir. What are you specs on that 587 cam?

That ought a be a pretty good cam for your desires.
That lift is fine with a comp 918 spring. PAC, Crower, Brian Tooley, all these springs are good.

Do you recommend titanium retainers or would the steel ones be fine?

Your not done with this build yet???? LOL

Do it once, do it right. IMO, go with the best when you have it apart.

I know I know... Was just wondering any of yall's personal opinions/experience. My head guy said he didn't see a need for the titanium ones being that it's not going to be a high rpm application, he said if this thing was going to spin 8000rpm's it would be a no brainer... in his opinion. Personally, I have no idea :D

I would stay with the steel ones. titanium are expensive ! you want durability for street driving more than light weight................just my opinion.
