So I want to drop my 06 QC 2 in the rear and 1 in the front. I need some answers to questions that have come to mind before I purchase the kit. I plan on getting the kit from X-metal as well as the new tie rod ends that Gary has come out with.

1. Will this give an even ride height on the truck or a lower in the rear and higher in the front look?

2. I'm trying to imagine what the rear suspension would look like with the leaf springs now under the rear axle. Can anyone post some pics of theirs?

Appreciate the help!

It is even on my 05 QC ,no pics but i'm very happy with X-Metal kit combine with the Caltrac's also from Gary.

beautiful, I am planning to get one from x-metal too with 1 in front and 2 in rear include cal-trac too I can't WAIT! :D

The X-Metal Kits for the QC are 4 in the rear and 2 in the front, this would even them out. The Regular cab is a 1/2 kit. At least this is the way I understand it. The QC was a very easy install, eventhough I am not a mechanic.

our kit includes new rear shackles that are adjustble in height so you can set the rear ride height were you like it the best.
let me know how we can help. thanks

The offset on the QC'S is 2 inches between the front and the rear. If you want your truck to ride level you have to have at least 2 inches diff between the front and the rear. I did 2 in the front and 4inches in the rear and hear's what it looks like.:D

Hey Ronnie on that 2/4 drop are you bottoming out in the back? I had a 2/4 on my GMC 1500 and it rode like s**t. Sometimes on the freeway it would bottom out in the rear so bad the seatbelts would lock. Needless to say i put it back to stock but left the shackles on for a leveled out look. Thanks.

Here's some pictures of mine lowered, I can't find the pictures I took of the rear suspension without the tires on it. Mine does not bottom out, unless I'm hauling a nuch of stuff and go over a prtty big bump, then it will, but to my knowledge it never has in about 14k miles when it was just my fat ass in the truck. One point of clarification though, I did put Boomer's height adjustment kit on and raised the rear as high as it afforded me...

Hope this helps...

Spoke with Gary last night; for QC's his drop kit can come with either a 1.1 or a 2.2 in drop in the front (you must select one or the other) but for the rear it's adjustable from 1in to 4in with the shackles. Decided to go with the 1.1in in the front and the new tie rod ends he's been making, should be getting these sometime next week.

Yes. You can choose the 1.1in drop in the front and adjust the rear height anywhere from 1 to 4in using the shackles that come in the x-metal drop kit. Check out my previous thread.

im curious why does it seem the yellow srt is lower in the rear than the black 06

Now that I think about it, some/all those pictures were taken before I added the height adjustment portion of the kit to the rear...so the rear is an inch or so higher now.
