My girlfriend has a 1998 Honda Accord with 155,000 miles. She hasn't done any major maintenance since she bought the car with 20,000 miles. Today she went in for an oil change at Valvoline in San Diego and of course as usual, the guy behind the counter begins saying she needs this and she needs that, etc etc. This is what he says she needs:
1. fuel system flush
2. power steering flush
3. auto transmission flush (she says its been lagging when going into drive or reverse) Now I've heard rumors that changing tranny fluid in an older car will actually make things worse, any truth to that?
There are some other basic items which are a no-brainer. But with the above listed items, what are your opinions on these services? Worth it? Thanks in advance

How long does she intend on keeping it?

is it a short drive , or does she drive long with it?

honestly on something with a ton of miles like that, do a routine deal

plugs, wires, oil change, air filter, and mostly fuel filter. maybe a deal or two of FI cleaner once in awhile.

tranny, its a myth, change the fluid and filter.

also check her brake fluid , most likly it needs flushed out and renewed.

coolant, yes a good coolant flush on a ton of miles is a good deal.

and dont forget the wiper blades:D
