Hey buddy,

I got a question for you...I know you aren't too enthused about headers, but do you think since you have forced induction it might help you alot more than us N/A folks?

Actually just the opposite...on a big N/A build (heads, cam etc) headers are needed..

but on a S/C...Paxton recommends not to install headers....the blower needs a little back pressure to keep the truck from leaning out.....

I had a Paxton on the SS before I ditched it for the ATI Procharger. Not sure what they are thinking but the more air you move the more power you make.I have 1.75 primaries and 3" collectors with a full 3" exhaust ,no cats and race mufflers.

The leaning out or not is a product of the tune ,air /fuel etc.I guarantee you will make more power with good properly designed headers.Maybe the cost per horsepower ratio isn`t optimum but I bet you would gain 30 HP.

My problem is that I have already maxed my fuel system...Headers would lean me out unless I went with bigger injectors etc.....then yeah gains could be had...I am trying to find a balance....how much power can I run on a stock block and also keep it streetable...

I think I have enough hp for now....I want to see if I can pic up a couple tenths via adjustable shocks....I would also like a 1 piece driveshaft but have yet to find anyone who will build one...

Hey bo, you know what would b interesting? to install a set of shorties or longies and jsut see if there was a change.

I have a set of 90lb injectors if you want to try them, but on mine they just upgraded to a walboro 255 in tank pump.

but if you upgrade tthe pump and injectors it is still a stock block engine.

would be quit interesting

I gotcha. We are running 10AN fuel lines, twin Bosch race pumps,Barry Grant fuel system 60# injectors yada ,yada ,yada.

Way excess to be sure .A street car and very drivable ,to a point.

You are prolly at the limit of a stock block ,700 RWHP.Really if that isn`t enough HP.....:p

You have pioneered the limits of what can be done with a stock bottom end ,congrats.:burnout:

Like Hennessey has pioneered the TT custom build end.

Thanks D....

The other thing I may start to look at is weight reduction...I run with the spare, bedcover and the OE 22's up front...The truck could easily lose 300lbs....

hmmm i find this topic to be very interesting. Headers are not going to hurt you nowhat. If anything they will help you by lowering the combustion chambers pressures. This alone will prolong the life of the engine and especially #3. By lowering the pressures you also reduce the risk of detonation. The real silent killer of these motors.;)

Now you may have to upgrade the fuel system but this again will only give the engine a longer life.

Sorry guys I gotta go with what DC performance tells me....they have gotten me this far and have been very up front with me from day 1....

Also keep in mind that the stock manifolds on these trucks are pretty damn good to begin with....

no problem, just know that I would never steer you wrong either.

I feel like the ceramic coated headers would indeed reduce cylinder temps, the factory manifolds do flow good as they were 2.5 inches i.d. and my Gibsons WERE 2.25 i.d. before my die grinder got loose. I feel like a good set of long tubes, ceramic coated would indeed help, both of the Blown 440's I built had headers,1st one was carbureted,2nd one was BDS EFI Injector hat.

Oh for crying out loud.....headers cause a turbo to lose max boost under load....don't try to get me to make your mistake.....:D

Seriously though mods work as a combination....I like my combination right now....it works for my truck based on the plan from my tuner...I gotta go with that...

LOLOLOLOL just messin wicha pal! If I was you I wouldnt change a thing, Chris has that thing smokin hot bro!

Cant wait til y do a few suspension goodies to see how it helps:D

Right now I would think you have the fastest documented current SRT-10 and thats a fact bo!:driver: :vroam: :adore:

This one piece driveshaft went on a YF Quad. The pic is at ROE in Feb.
