Or for anybody that has had their's powdercoated. I'm trying to do this myself, gonna try a base/clear, kind of a charcoal metallic color. On all of the pics I've been looking at, I can't tell if people are painting the inside of the wheels, the rim itself behind the spokes. It sure looks like when they have a black finish the rest of the rim is black. So maybe the question is what looks better? Charcoal spokes/lip with a brushed aluminum rim behind. Or charcoal spokes/lip/rim? Any ideas, and or tips for painting them?

I would think the charcoal on the inside would hide brake dust better. :dontknow: So I'm going to go with that. :D

I would have the tires dis-mounted...

Then go to the parts store and get some Aircraft Paint Remover. This will strip
off anything that you have on your wheels. Use a toothbrush and some time to
get in the crevasses and scrub them down good.

Then, I would use a scotchbright pad and scuff them up.

After that... basecoat and clear coat... :)

That is personal preference. I had mine completely powdercoated lip and the back side in a just slightly more glossy than satin.

is there any possible way to keep brake dust away from stock rims? i want leave my stock rims the way it is but im sick of that damn brake dust look bad on rims

You could get the EBC Brake pads. :dontknow: I hear they have a LOT LESS dust, and don't squeak.

You you could get some of those "Disks" that bolt to the hub behind your wheels.... But, those would look a little tacky, IMO.

Satin powder coating looks very nice..but you know....:D

i did wipe it off with a towel and it would get more and more dirt in like 1 day! im really sick of it!! i want high brake performance and LESS DIRT!! :D i would go for EBC but which? green, yellow, black or red?? which is better for ram srt10?

My painter scuffed the painted portion and shot directly over it, then cleared the whole wheel. Its all in the prep, they dont have to be taken down to bare to get it to stick if its preped properly. Mine have ZERO chips in them after 3000 miles, they are holding up extremely well.

Got any pictures of them? How does the powdercoating hold up? Cost?

Thanks!

Thanks Bro! That looks pretty sweet with the centers silver. Did you powder coat the gas door as well? I like how it matchs the wheels!
