I was out driving the truck this morning and noticed a noise in the cab. I know everyone knows about the noise that comes from the X-Metal shifter. Now my noise. When driving the truck, gear doesn't matter it makes the same noise in every gear, as my rpm's hit 5k+ there is a noise coming from the clutch pedal that sounds like the shifter only louder. Now it isn't the shifter cause you can feel the vibration in the cltch pedal. I don't get this noise in normal driving only in the high rpm area. What could this noise be? Thanks for any thoughts in advance.
Do you mean like a click sound? Are you still on stock clutch and hydraulics? My clutch pedal would make a clicking sound right before she burned up. I had to replace everything. I could only hear this sound at low rpms/speed. Engine/exhaust too loud to notice at any other speed. patrick
No it is more like a buzzing sound but loud enought that I hear it over the radio and engine when running the truck at high rpm's in any gear.
probably:dontknow: the deal is if it was a internal bearing I would think it would do it constantly, with the throwout bearing it would be possibly the more trq applied the louder it would get. either that or the output bearing in the tranny maybe?
Thanks for the input. I am taking the truck in to the dealer in the morning. I hope it is nothing major.
Damn...you guys scared him... And yes ,the dealer will either 1- if its under warranty say "they all make that sound" or 2- if its out of warranty, want to tear the whole transmision out.
