i have noticed that my clutch pedal is squeaking here lately. also i am finding increasingly more difficult to get into gears at times.


could my master/slave cylinder be going out?

My started squeaking too, but it still shifts good.

mine does too. tried to spray wd-40....everywhere up there but still squeaks.

i am asking cause i cant quite remember but i thought it was said a while back that when your clutch pedal starts to squeak the master/slave cylinder is about to go out.

not sure though. when i had my red truck before it was totaled my clutch pedal started squeaking and about 2 weeks later the master/slave cylinder went out. could have been a coincidence though.

i had read the statement after i put all the new parts in the truck.

im just checking if this is a tell-tale sign.

tell tale sign..... if it's squeaking, it's failing - time for upgrade master/slave cylinders......

Yeah mine started squeeking before it failed as well. Though I did not have the problem of getting it into gear.

this should be covered under warranty shouldnt it?

It may fall under clutch which only has a 12 month 12000 miles warranty.

Crap. I've been having a similar rubbery squeak coming from the clutch master cylinder. Reverse and 1st are sometimes difficult. I've got about 11k miles on my '04. Time to visit some of our vendors, I suppose... Maybe I'll see what the warranty covers first since that's already been bought.
