..........since re-installing stock muffler (still no cats) and stock intake I seem down on power.the clutch may be slipping a bit as well, but I don't think so.I have two pusher fans and still run over 200 degrees.

I am thinking of getting a new flash from DC performance and see if that helps (the current one seems "weak") and doing the dual MagnaFlows with separate X-pipe.

Any ideas opinions or suggestions ? :dontknow:

Ditto stock sux!!

My suggestion is to put the magnaflow cat back and CAI back on....:D :D :D

Modded is WAY better than stock.

You actually kept that hot water heater sized muffler? Man I dumped that POS in a dumpstir!!!!

If catless is too loud, put some high flows on there with your magnaflow.

FYI,
The high flow cats are still loud as hell. :D :D :D

What might be happening is the difference in sound is tricking your mind into thinking that the truck does not run as well.

Many times when I see a quiet car going down the track it seems much slower than a louder car, but the slower car can be faster than quiet car. I equate loudness/sound with power

Going back to the stock air intake and the "quiet" muffler tricks our heads into thinking that the vehicle is way down on power.

You may have lost a few HP with the stock muffler, but the perception is much greater than the reality.

Back in the 60's I had an Lmpala SS with a basicly stock exhaust. I put cut outs on it and drove it around with open exhaust. I knew that it ran much better uncapped, than it did before the cutouts.

I took it to the track and the times were identical. I thought that it ran much better beacuse of the sound.

The only real test is to take it to the track and compare the times. Pay particular attention to the MPH as that is the indicator of horse power.

What kind of engine and oil temps are you seeing during freeway driving?

I may be the only one, but the addition of Magnaflow resonators in front of the Magnaflow muffler really got rid of the high pitched resonation and quited the exhaust just a little...it still rumbles and crackles...but I have found this solution very pleasing...

Thanks for the replys.

I don't know what the highway temps are yet.Just local driving after re-setting fan activation temps.I lowered them to about 150 for half power, then 180-185 for both fans on full.Seems hotter now than having then set higher.

I agree with the loud-equals-fast theory.I may try the set-up that Roy has.

I am going to try the DC Performance stage II flash. They said it will work better than the B&G Stage II that I have now.(for cooling)

The B&G and the DC Flashes are essentially the same tune. The differences will be so small there is no way you will notice any difference.

I have been running the DC Stage II and 170 degree T-Stat for a long time and my truck still hits 205 degrees in traffic. Drops down to about 170 on the highway. Not much difference over stock really.

I would spend my money else where if I were you, but that's just my opinion.:dontknow:

I too added the magnaflow resonators and it gave the truck the perfect sound. Sounds exotic, but muscular as well.

After sleeping on it,I have decided to not do it.Doing the math on money spent vs. gains , it would be my most expensive mod yet. I'll stay with my B&G Stage II flash for now. I likely will change to twin MagnaFlows with the money, maybe even with the resonators.

Here is a little update >>>>>>>>>>>>>> The clutch seems to be slipping, truck is "jerky" when going into 2nd unless on it really hard.I also thought I smelled it tonight.Pulling tranny Friday or saturday to see what is going on.May re-install the stock flywheel.

I have nothing to contribute.....

I have stock manifold, catless mids and a Borla exhaust.....

I don't have any experience with your set-up...Sorry.
